Air France begins MSP service

Yesterday, MSP Airport welcomed its first Air France arrival (from Paris, CDG) at Gate G6. The MSP Airport Fire Department gave the Airbus 340-300 aircraft a traditional water cannon salute.

The new seasonal summer service will operate five times a week until June 16 and then daily from June 17 to Sept. 1.

"By expanding frequency to and from Europe, we are giving customers more choices and greater convenience," Patrick Roux, senior vice president of Air France-KLM, Americas, said in a written statement. "The rich domestic opportunities via Minneapolis-St. Paul provide strong feed for the Air France service, making the hub a natural choice for Air France.

Air France and KLM now serve 12 U.S. destinations with more than 200 flights per week through hubs in Paris — Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam-Schiphol.

The partnership among Delta, Air France-KLM, and Alitalia offers 250 daily flights across the Atlantic.
