Phil Burke named Director of MSP Operations

Phil BurkeMetropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) Assistant Director of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Operations/Facilities Phil Burke  has been selected as the new Director of MSP Operations.

“I am grateful and humbled to be given the opportunity to lead the Operations side of MSP,” said Phil. In his new role, Phil will oversee the Operations, Landside Operations, Facilities, Trades, Maintenance and Airside Operations departments.  “As everyone knows, MSP is a national leader when it comes to running a professional operation, so my job will be to support the Operations team in any way I can to ensure that reputation remains intact,” he said. 

“I also have a deep belief in MAC’s vision, ‘To give our customers the best airport experience in North America!’. I look forward to working with the MSP Community to continue to imbed that into our culture,” he said

Phil joined the MAC in 2001 in the Commercial Management and Airline Affairs department. Three years later, he became the Assistant Director of MSP Operations/Facilities. Prior to joining the MAC, Phil worked for Mesaba Airlines in its Properties & Facilities department for 11 years.  He earned a Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota with a major in Airport Administration. Phil is currently enrolled in an Organizational Leadership Masters Program at Bethel University and expects to finish his Master’s degree in June 2014.
