Fly: A digital travel and lifestyle magazine for MSP travelers launches today

image of current pageThe Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) Public Affairs and Marketing team is pleased to announce the launch of Fly, a digital travel and lifestyle magazine.

The publication will provide useful and engaging information about food, fashion, style, culture, and travel within the airport, the local community, and beyond. Readers will enjoy airport restaurant reviews, product and book recommendations, airport employee and traveler profiles, and stunning photography.

“Fly will serve as a dynamic guide to MSP’s many dining, shopping, and personal service options, showcasing travel and lifestyle trends, and highlighting members of our airport community,” says Phoebe Larson, marketing strategist for the MAC.

Larson and fellow team members developed the concept for marketing the airport’s concessions when it became clear that customers and business owners were no longer interested in printed coupons.

“In the marketing world, content is king,” says Larson. “Today’s travelers want useful and interesting content with which to engage. Fly fulfills that desire and helps our customers connect with us in a way that is both personal and engaging.”

Years ago, MSP provided similar information through a printed monthly publication called MSP Traveler. However, that publication took much more time and money to create and was out of date almost as soon as it hit the floor.

Today, with so many people using mobile devices and preferring digital information sources, it no longer makes sense to use print as a main delivery method. By taking the information to the digital world, the MAC is able to provide relevant and up-to-date information to an exponentially expanded readership, way beyond the walls of the terminal buildings.

MSP Airport is the only airport in North America to provide such a publication.
