Airport Field Maintenance Job Fair, Aug. 12

The MAC is hosting an Airport Field Maintenance Job Fair from 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 12. At the event, attendees can tour the field maintenance building, get a close look at the unique equipment used to keep runways open during snow events and meet airport field maintenance employees.  

This job fair is focused on three, main positions: airport maintenance workers, seasonal airport maintenance workers and seasonal snow shovelers; however, information on other positions will also be available at the event.

Position descriptions:

  • The airport maintenance worker performs routine field maintenance. Duties include snow and ice control, bituminous and concrete surface repairs, fencing, signage, pollution control, trash collection, and general cleanup of air operational areas and public areas. This position also operates equipment, including trucks, sweepers, tractors, mowers, snow plows, snow blowers, sanders, liquid chemical vehicles, concrete saws, jack-hammers, etc. Anticipated hourly rate: $21.249.
  • The seasonal airport maintenance worker is primarily responsible for snow and ice control, but may also perform any of the airport maintenance worker duties. The seasonal assignment typically runs from mid-October to mid-March, is a benefited position and has the potential to repeat seasonally. Anticipated hourly rate:$18.963.
  • The seasonal snow shoveler is responsible for removing snow from sidewalks, parking lots and lights on the field using a variety of snow removal equipment. This position is also responsible for washing equipment and shop clean-up. This assignment typically runs from mid-November to mid-April, is non-benefited and has the potential to repeat seasonally. Anticipated hourly rate: $15.655.
