Global Girls in Aviation Day celebration, Sept. 26

To celebrate the first annual Global Girls in Aviation Day, AirSpace Minnesota is hosting Navigate Your Worldan event designed to inspire girls to explore the value of science and technology.

Date: Saturday, Sept. 26
Time: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Place: St. Paul Downtown Airport, 644 Bayfield St.

At the event, girls ages 10 - 17 can meet with successful women in the aviation profession – including astronaut, engineer and global leader, Dr. Sandy Magnus – and explore how science, technology, engineering, and math skills change the way society lives, works, and plays.

Free flights will also be available at the event on a first-come, first-serve basis. To take advantage of this opportunity, participants must fill out a permission form signed by their parents. If interested, contact Deanna Kimball at dkimball17@gmail.com.

Admission to the event is free, but registration is required. To register, fill out the online form on AirSpace Minnesota's website. More information about the event is also available on the site.

Global Girls in Aviation Day was created by Women in Aviation International (WAI) this year to help introduce girls to the aviation lifestyle as well as the diverse career opportunities available to them in the aviation community. Approximately half of WAI's chapters have unique, local events planned for Sept. 26 that offer girls an opportunity to learn more about the profession.
