Delta resumes service from MSP to Korea
In another sign travel is returning to MSP Airport (MSP), Delta Air Lines announced Friday (June 17) that it will resume nonstop service between MSP and Seoul-Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Korea beginning Oct. 2.
Flights will initially operate three times per week before increasing to daily service on Oct. 29. With the move to daily MSP-ICN service, Delta will have fully restored its fights to Korea to 2019 pre-pandemic levels.
"As travel restrictions ease, international and business travel is expected to drive the next leg of Delta's recovery," said Matteo Curcio, Delta's vice president for the Asia Pacific region. "Recent demand has been strong in Asian markets, particularly in Korea and Japan as those countries roll back COVID-era travel restrictions. Full restoration of the airline's Korean network is a positive indicator of what's to come for the rest of the Asia region."
Delta's MSP-ICN route will operate on its flagship Airbus A350-900 aircraft with a choice of four experiences – Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin.
The Friday announcement marked the fourth time this month that MSP has marked new or returning international service. On June 1, launched a new daily, year-round route between MSP and Montreal and Condor Airlines resumed its seasonal nonstop flights to Frankfurt, Germany, after a two-year hiatus.
And on June 16, Sun Country Airlines announced new service to Vancouver, British Columbia.
