Sun Country launches direct service to Grand Cayman
Sun Country Airlines kicked off direct service to Grand Cayman on Dec. 17 with a festive gate event at Terminal 2.
Sun Country's weekly service provides access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and to a destination renowned for its culinary offerings.
The gate event, coordinated by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), included a ribbon cutting, preceded by comments from Roy Fuhrmann, the MAC's chief operating officer; Jude Bricker, the CEO of Sun Country Airlines, and Daniel Taugher, national sales manager of the Cayman Island Department of Tourism.
Guests at Terminal 2 were treated to sandwiches, soft drinks and coffee prior to the flight, provided by the MSP Airport Conference Center. Gift bags were also available.
Passengers on the inaugural flight received a warm welcome when they landed in Grand Cayman, including a selection of local treats and beverages, and a steel pan serenade.
Thanks to all involved in the gate event!
