Prepare for potential detours between MSP terminals this summer

A high-volume route between MSP terminals will see significant construction beginning June 3, which will require detours for some motorists. 

East 70th Street is just east of Terminal 2 and connects 34th Avenue to Post Road in front of Signature Aviation. The current asphalt pavement on the nearly half-mile of East 70th Street will be reconstructed. A new bike lane and utility improvements are also part of the project, which is expected to be completed in September.  

Crews will work on one lane of the roadway at a time, while maintaining eastbound traffic flow from Terminal 2 to Post Road throughout the project.  

Post Road will maintain two-way traffic from Highway 5 through to the West Cell Phone Waiting Lot. 

Traffic control measures and detour signage will be in place to guide motorists to take MN-5 W to 34th Avenue South to access Terminal 2 and Signature Aviation during the project.
