Buses to replace trains between MSP terminals during temporary Blue Line closure

Travelers and workers at MSP Airport should plan extra time for any trips between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 during a three-week Metro Transit Blue Line closure beginning April 23.

From 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, until Wednesday, May 14, buses will replace the Blue Line light rail trains that serve MSP Airport. The closure, in both directions between the Fort Snelling and Mall of America stations, will allow for scheduled maintenance that includes replacement of track and rail switches.

According to Metro Transit, replacement bus timing can vary and trips may take longer because of needed routing and traffic conditions. The transit agency estimates that the bus trip between terminals will take about 10 minutes.
