Airport Police Pink Patch Project raises $5K for breast cancer research

The MSP Airport Police Department (APD) raised $5,000 for breast cancer research in October as part of the department’s third year participating in the Pink Patch Project.

APD representatives presented the check to the American Cancer Society this week. In addition to selling nearly 400 bright pink police and civilian patches this year, the department introduced — and quickly sold out of — a popular new pink challenge coin.

The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative effort among public safety agencies around the nation to increase awareness about the life-saving benefits of early detection and intervention in the fight against breast cancer. Over the past three years, APD has donated $13,000 to the American Cancer Society through its public and internal sales.

Congratulations to all who helped support a worthy cause!
